I have been looking forward to visiting Happy Maki for some time, however my visit left me quite underwhelmed. The quality and flavour of the food didn’t meet my expectations, particularly considering the price point. The satay sauce was basically a runny peanut butter, the burrito didn’t hold together well and fell apart on eating and for me flavour was really lacking. The food was fresh however and arrived quickly. Located up a flight of stairs on the first floor.Dietary restrictions: Vegan

Cute little canteen style restaurant above a small shop overlooking the lanes. (Great for people watching)Allergen friendly. Pretty sure it’s all gluten free.I do know it’s damn delicious and I’m a very fussy customer (being a chef)Would recommend popcorn cauliflower, satay pockets, hoisin “duck” (tofu skin) or even a bowl!!When I’m back in Brighton I always make sure I pop in for a bit of lunch.Vegetarian options: VeganDietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten free friendly

Brighton is apparently full of amazing veggie/vegan restaurants, but we only know Happy Maki because we never want to go anywhere else when we’re in Brighton! The food is incredible - so fresh, inventive, delicious perfectly balanced flavours. You haven’t had Popcorn cauli until you’ve had Happy Maki’s :) nothing else compares (we’ve tried). Not from Brighton but tend to come down once a year or so - eating at Happy Maki is always a main attraction. Great to see them move to a bigger location - lovely atmosphere. Wish Happy Maki would open up around Portsmouth/Southampton or make a cookbook! Thanks for all the wonderful food.Vegetarian options: Fully vegan restaurant

I visited around . on a weekday. There were a few diners already ordering/eating but there was lots of available seating to eat in. Service was fast and friendly. I think the pricing is fair - There's a poster explainingg the breakdown of their prices for anyone that's interested.I had a burrito which was well made and held its shape whilst I ate it. The menu said crispy chicken - I assumed this meant breaded, but it wasn't. It tasted good though so it didn't really matter.Dietary restrictions: This is a fully vegan eatery
